This isn’t about creating a televised spectacle or entertainment-driven courtrooms. It’s about ensuring an accurate and accountable record of courtroom proceedings when questions arise. Why is this important? Because transparency helps rebuild trust. Without it, scandals like Kids for Cash, Custody-4-Cash, Epstein Files, and others have shaken public confidence in our justice system. We deserve a system that is open, honest, and accountable. What this bill supports is accountability—preserving an accurate record of what actually happened in court, beyond just a typed transcript produced at the court’s discretion, with words potentially stricken from the record. Please take a few minutes to do your own research and make your voice heard before you vote. A bit of background: Since 2014, I’ve been involved in this fight for transparency. I’ve investigated abuses, spoken on radio and television, written articles, and pushed for accountability—because I believe the system can and should work for all of us. But I’ve seen firsthand that without real transparency, trust in the system cannot be rebuilt. I recall bringing evidence directly to the Senate Chair of the Judiciary in Harrisburg. His response?"I don’t care what evidence you have. As long as I am Chair, it will never see the light of day." This year, during an election, voters have an opportunity to decide whether those issues stay in the dark. Thanks to Representative Jamie Flick of Williamsport, HB 1397 is now legislation. But legislation only matters if citizens like you push for it. That’s where you come in. Call your representatives. Ask where they stand. Join the movement for transparency.
